Our Story

We founded Solid Blend in 1999 as an answer to an industry problem. While working at a hospital network managing water treatment chemical providers and receiving little to no support or service, Ken realized there was a need for boots-on-the-ground service, technical expertise, and solutions to water problems – and Solid Blend was born. We built customized services, and solutions and removed the commissioned sales/service model that remains prevalent in the industry today.

Ken soon recognized another problem – there were limited resources for water treatment training. Out of our desire to ensure that our clients received service that exceeded industry standards, Ken created an internal training program for our service team. We partnered with water treatment experts to offer training programs for clients, mechanical contractors, engineers, public health officials, and industry associations.

We remain committed to Safeguarding Water in our region. We pursue innovation in education, training, awareness, services, and products to provide Water Management Solutions that are safe, clean, and sustainable. By embodying our mission to respond rapidly, find win/win solutions, stay curious and committed to continuous learning, and remain honest while striving to be humble and kind in all we do, we are uniquely positioned to deliver the expert solutions you require with the attention and customer service you deserve.

Case Study: We Know Water

SOLID BLEND RECEIVED THE PRESTIGIOUS AWARD OF EXCELLENCE FROM THE ASSOCIATED BUILDERS AND CONTRACTORS, INC., OHIO VALLEY CHAPTER (“ABC”) FOR OUR WORK AT DAYTON’S GRANDVIEW MEDICAL CENTER.

CHALLENGE: The hospital’s newly renovated chiller plant that utilized geothermal (well) water could not meet design efficiency due to fouling.

OUR SOLUTION: Our team searched nationwide and found facilities that were seeing positive results using an Automatic Tube Cleaning System (ATCS). Because the technology was new to our region, we negotiated a “no-cost” pilot test for Grandview.

RESULT: The tube cleaning system solved Grandview’s fouling problem and yielded an ROI of 2.04 years and total cost savings of nearly $16,000.00.
